oh my gosh
Kaiser, sweet Kaiser...permanente that is
Well, in the interest of keeping all if my faithful friends and people praying for me updated, I thought I would share my blog with you, and I will update it as we learn.
Driving home from slo after a purely fabulous wedding, that was beautiful and fun, I started to feel crummy. Started taking my temp and it went from 98.7 to 103.2 in two hours, so bry drove me straight to the hospital, praying for me and keeping me calm.

Fever kept spiking then coming down overnight.
Today the blood culture showed a bacterial infection, but they don't know what kind of bacteria it is yet.
Did an abdominal CT, and that came back normal.
So for now, they are trying to keep the blood pressure stable and find the source of the bacteria.
If you could pray for my heart to be dwelling and resting in 2 Corinthians 4 I would be very blessed by that.
Also for my family, that they would be able to rest in the Lord.
And for work, I want to get back! :)
Thank you all, I will keep you posted!

Deep Breaths

As I sit here and write, I can watch my chest rise and fall with each breath I take. It seems surreal that just three weeks ago, the people that love me were sitting next to me watching a machine perform this action for me, because I could no longer breathe on my own.
I like to sit on the couch and take deep breaths. . .simply because I can. There is no tube down my throat, I am not coughing up blood, I am just sitting here, breathing deep peaceful breaths.
But the beauty is that even when those other breaths were a struggle, I was just as much in the Lord’s hands as I am this moment. I was made weak. Broken physically to the point that I was put into a coma. There was no strength of my own to “pull me through.” God put me to sleep, and he woke me again. In His mercy and power he woke me again. And has continued to do so every morning. He draws me closer and closer to Himself by reminding me of these “simple mercies,” which as it turns out .. .. aren’t always so simple :)
I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the Lord sustained me- Psalm 3:5
